SOUTH African premiership side Mamelodi Sundowns have dismissed reports claiming the Brazilians were planning to sign two Belgium-based midfielders Honour Gombami and Vuza Nyoni.
Recent media reports in Zimbabwe strongly linked the two former Zimbabwe internationals with a possible move to the Absa Premiership heavyweights.
However, Sundowns team manager Peter Ndlovu has refuted the rumours stating that the Tshwane side are not interested in the services of the two experienced players.
“I am not sure where those reports are coming from. The two are great players and any club would want to have them, but there has never been any approach from Sundowns,” said Ndlovu.
Gombami is a 31-year-old attacking midfielder currently on the books of Royal Antwerp, while 30-year-old Nyoni plays as a winger at R.A.E.C. Mons.
“There is nothing like that. We at Sundowns, are open people and I can refer you to our communications department. The two have not been approached by Sundowns,” Ndlovu added.
The Brazilians have already exceeded their foreign quota, so Pitso Mosimone’s side will have to off-load some of their foreign players in order to register new foreign players with the Premier Soccer League (PSL).Advertisement
