CHICKEN Inn striker Tendai Ndoro is on the verge of joining South African ABSA Premier League side Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Ndoro, who has scored 11 times for the Bulawayo club in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League this year, arrived at Aces for a trial last week.
He was immediately thrown into the fray in a friendly match against SuperSport United, making an impression that left the club convinced that he was what they needed.
He is set to team up with fellow countryman Method Mwanjali, who is now the captain at the side coached by Clive Barker, the 1996 African Nations Cup winner with Bafana Bafana.
Meanwhile, Mwanjali led Amazayoni to a stunning 2-1 away win against AmaZulu in a league match on Tuesday night.
Omar Hendricks’s first half screamer had given Aces the lead, only for Bongi Macala to cancel it out with eight minutes remaining before Themba Zwane scored a stunning late winner for the visitors.
Mwanjali had seen his troops fall at home to champions Kaizer Chiefs in the season opener in a match they generally had an upper hand.
While Mwanjali was celebrating, Knowledge Musona’s Kaizer Chiefs drew 1-1 with Moroka Swallows.
Musona was a victim of vicious tackles from the visitors’ defence and won the penalty scored by Bernard Parker to level matters.Advertisement
