AS the league race staggers to the finishing line, the top three teams face what appear to be tough run-ins in their bids to win the ultimate prize of domestic football.
Only seven matches remain before the season comes to an end with no team guaranteed to win the championship yet given the tough assignments awaiting them.
Despite a comprehensive 5-1 destruction of Wha Wha on Wednesday in their biggest win of the season, Dynamos remain in third position with 42 points.
The Harare giants are still seven adrift of leaders Chicken Inn who overcame Triangle 2-1. FC Platinum are in second position on 42 points after dispatching How Mine 3-0.
However all three teams face what appears tough encounters in the last seven matches.
Dynamos have a tough run in starting with the trip to Chicken Inn next which could have a huge bearing on the destiny of the championship.
The defending champions also have bitter rivals Caps United and Harare City and relegation threatened teams such as Flame Lily, Chapungu and Buffaloes to grapple with.
Leaders Chicken Inn also face difficult assignments in which they host Dynamos in their next match. They also still have FC Platinum, How Mine, WhaWha, Tsholotsho, before rounding off their season with a date against Flame Lily.
FC Platinum also have what appears a tough run-in with matches against Chicken Inn, Caps United and Harare City still to come among their remaining eight games.
Of the chasing pack only fourth placed Triangle appear to have, on paper, a fair run-in.
Kelvin Kaindu’s men have to face Caps United first and then Harare City, and have winnable fixtures against the likes of Buffaloes, Dongo Sawmills and Chapungu.
However, a trip to Hwange on the last day of the season is not ideal especially if the title race goes that far.
