Uhuru Cup: Dynamos face Hre City

DEFENDING champions Dynamos will face Harare City in the semi-finals of the Independence Trophy slated for Rufaro on Sunday.
The Independence Cup tournament has been made the official opening match of the season. Previously, the Net One Charity Shield has been the traditional season opener.
Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela announced on Wednesday Dynamos will face Harare City at Rufaro on Sunday while Highlanders will come up against FC Platinum in Bulawayo at Barbourfields.
Gwesela said they picked the team which finished first in the league last year to play against the team which finished third with the team which finished second playing against the team which finished fourth.
He however declined to reveal details of the prize money which he said would be announced in due course.
Dynamos finished first in the league title race with Highlanders, a close second. Harare City settled for third while FC Platinum was fourth in the exciting campaign.
The winners of the semi-finals will play in the final of the Independence Cup tournament on 18 April in Harare with the losers playing for the third and fourth places in Bulawayo the same day.
Dynamos are the defending champions after defeating bitter rivals Highlanders 1-0 in the final last year.Advertisement
