Visa hitches rock Prayzah, Sulu UK tour UK tour cancelled … Suluman Chimbetu and Jah Prayzah

THE Greatest Hits UK Tour featuring Jah Prayzah and Suluman Chembetu has been cancelled due to visa complications and the passing in South Africa of the Gochi Gochi star’s brother, promoters confirmed Thursday.
The Sulu and Prayzah were billed to perform in Leicester and London this weekend but promoters said the shows had now been moved to March next year after the stars’ visas were cancelled by UK authorities.
Y2K promotions said the UK Boarder Agency suspended the operating permits of a company they normally use to bring artists into the country resulting in the revocation of the visas which had already been granted.
The development comes after the shows were also hit by the withdrawal of superstar Oliver Mtukudzi due to what the sponsors described as unforeseen circumstances.
“Following UK Boarder Agency’ suspension of the sponsorship company that we always use for work permits applications it is with regret that the suspension has resulted in revocation of all granted VISAs. We have therefore run out of time to rescue anything,” Y2K said in a statement.
“It has been very difficult times for all concerned starting with Oliver Mtukudzi’s earlier withdrawal and now with Jah Prayzah’s brother who sadly passed away (on Wednesday).
“We hereby express our condolences to Jah Prayzah, his family and friends during this testing, sensitive and distressing time. It has been a catalogue of problems beyond our control from the onset and unfortunately these are some of the challenges promoters face.
“We would like to reassure all those who have bought advance tickets that a full refund will be given and therefore please contact your ticket agent and those who have bought direct from Y2K we will call you for your refunds. We understand people take time off and make reservations. We can only hope you all take our apology gracefully.”
Y2K however, said the shows had been rearranged for March next year.
“Enquiries for this tour have been immense but nevertheless it was not to be,” the promoters added.
“However, Due to its popularity and demand we have agreed with all artists Tuku, Sulu and Jah that we will reschedule to 21 & 22 March 2014 in London and Leicester respectively.”
