WARRIORS chief striker Knowledge Musona scored the winner as his Belgium club KV Oostende overcame Standard Liege 2-1 in a league match at the weekend.
Christian Bruels had opened the scoring early in the match and Oostende had to come from a goal down as Joseph Akpala cancelled the lead before Musona slotted home in the 78th minute to grab the winner.
The Zimbabwean marksman has now scored four goals in the first five league games for his Belgian club.
KV Oostende top the Belgian Pro League standings with 13 points from five games.
This will be good news for Kalisto Pasuwa as he prepares for the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Malawi on September 6.
Musona was part of the squad that travelled to Malawi and emerged 2-1 victors over the Flames.
Khama Billiat and Cuthbert Malajila, who are on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa, scored a goal each in that match and Zimbabwe will be seeking maximum points against the Malawians.
The Sundowns pair also scored for their club at the weekend with Malajila grabbing a brace while Billiat scored another goal in a victory over Bidvest Wits University.Advertisement
