AN unidentified man is seen on a self-recorded video praying fervently to God to infect Africa’s ‘dirty’ and ‘corrupt’ leaders with coronavirus.
The man accuses African leaders of building themselves expensive mansions outside their countries using taxpayers’ money at the expense of building hospitals for their poor people.
While he does not mention names of any particular leaders, his prayer could not be far from the Zimbabwean situation whose former leader Robert Mugabe died last September in a Singaporean hospital after presiding over a dead health system for decades.
Current President Emmerson Mnangagwa has also been accused of extravagance with taxpayers’ money while neglecting key amenities involving the wellbeing of ordinary citizens.
Vice President Constantino Chiwenga last year spent months receiving special treatment in Chinese hospitals when a lot of his compatriots back home were dying as doctors went on a prolonged strike.
Zimbabwean doctors and nurses recently downed tools demanding protective clothing as the country battles the coronavirus scourge.
