Vice President Constantino Chiwenga who also doubles up as the Health Minister has said the government will no longer provide foreign currency to any patient seeking treatment outside the country.
He said the move is meant to bring down the health foreign currency bill and the funds will be used to upgrade local health facilities across the country.
Most senior government officials are known for travelling out of the country when seeking medical treatment at state-of-the-art medical facilities. Local public health centres are run down due to years of neglect by the state.
