ACTING Zanu PF deputy secretary for youth affairs Tendai Chirau taken a dig at former party youth league political commissar Godfrey Tsenengamu for claiming the ruling party uses youths in exchange for caps and t-shirts.

Tsenengamu made the claims at the launch of his new opposition party, Front for Economic Emancipation in Zimbabwe (FEEZ)’s manifesto Friday.

Chirau said Tsenengamu was one of the many youths who got farms as a result of Zanu PF’s youth empowerment programme and has no right to misrepresent issues as he had on NewZimbabwe.com’s NewZim TV.

Chirau claimed youths were getting land, loans and benefitting from innovation hubs at various state universities across the country.

“Zanu PF is a party for development, it has always given youths opportunities for development, we have several youths who are farmers and have been given land and we still push for more,” Chirau said.

“Tsenengamu is one of those who benefited from that programme he has a farm. It is not true that only caps and t-shirts are given, it is just an element of sour grapes. It is good to be truthful, political banter will not work at this stage,” he said.

Tsenengamu has of late been very vocal about how Zanu PF abuses national resources for personal gain in webs of corruption that go as high as Mnangagwa’s office.
