SCOTTISH company Aggreko has announced a three-year contract to provide 200 megawatts of diesel-fuelled power in Zimbabwe.
Chief executive Chris Weston described the contract as “important”.
Glasgow-based Aggreko’s customer in the contract is Sakunda Holdings Pty. Aggreko noted that Sakunda had been awarded a contract with the ultimate customer, Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA).
The Scottish company added that Sakunda was responsible for the provision of fuel under the terms of its contract with ZESA.
Weston said: “We are pleased with the award of this important contract. Our operational flexibility and our ability to deploy large amounts of equipment at short-notice, in particular our fuel-efficient engines, was critical to this award.
“We look forward to supporting Sakunda and ultimately ZESA with their power needs over the coming years.”
Aggreko said that, as was normal, the contract would become effective once certain conditions were satisfied.Advertisement
