SPARTA Prague and Zimbabwe defender Costa Nhamoinesu was left stranded at a guest lodge in Harare on Monday after Zifa reneged on a promise to reimburse money for his air ticket.
Warriors coach Kalisto Pasuwa also could not leave the lodge after the match against Guinea on Sunday as he wanted Zifa to reimburse the player to enable him to return to the Czech Republic.
Pasuwa’s manager, Gibson Mahachi, said the coach had been detained at the lodge because had not paid the bills.
The Warriors use the lodge for their camping ahead of matches.
“Pasuwa had been detained at the lodge after Zifa failed to pay bills,” said Mahachi.
“He (Pasuwa) was with Costa Nhamoinesu who also was failing to get his money having bought an air ticket to come for the Warriors match against Guinea using his own funds after Zifa had said they would reimburse him.
“They spent the whole day at the lodge and only left on Monday evening after Zifa managed to pay something.
“Look, Costa had shown his commitment to use his own money to come and play for the national team only to be treated like this.”
