ZIFA name COSAFA under 20 squad

SOUTH Africa-based midfielder Brett Amidu is a surprise inclusion in the Young Warriors squad for the Cosafa Under-20 Championships.
The AmaZulu player will together with Botswana-based Tafadzwa Kutinyu be the only foreign-based players.
Zimbabwe left the country on Sunday for the tournament which begins on Tuesday in Maseru.
Surprisingly out of the squad is Dynamos linkman Abel Gwatidzo and Caps United’s Tinotenda Muskwe.
But booking their tickets for Maseru include Dynamos reserve goalkeeper Tatenda Makuruva and his Motor Action counterpart Benard Donovan.
Walter Musona, young brother to Warriors star striker Knowledge would be out to emulate his brother who attracted at the same tournament.
Young Warriors coach Jairos Tapera is eyeing a seventh Cosafa Under-20 Championships title when they take part in the regional football tournament in Lesotho.
“I think we have done enough to craft a formidable side capable of coming back with gold. The players know that they have to restore lost pride and that is what we will be fighting for. We are ready for any challenge in Lesotho,” Tapera said.
Zimbabwe who had been camped in Zvishavane for the past three weeks would be fighting to close the gap on Zambia who have 10 titles.
