FORMER Dynamos goalkeeper Phillip Nhete is trying his lucky at Tanzania Premier League Football side Azam FC.
He recently flew out to Tanzania for a two week auditions.
Nhete who kept goal for the struggling Mutare City Rovers side in the first half of the season is reported to be on the brink of securing a deal with the cash rich East African side.
City Rovers head coach Taku Shariwa however said the departure of Nhete would not adversely impact the team as they had already secured a replacement in the form of Victor Twaliki.
“We will miss him, but we have an equally good replacement. Victor Twaliki will step in, he has just joined us; he is a good goalkeeper with vast premiership experience,” said Shariwa.
The 2016-2017 Tanzania Premier League is slated to start next month and Nhete will be keen to impress during his two-week trial.
Meanwhile, Twaliki is expected to keep goal for Rovers in a league match against Tsholotsho at Barbourfields on Wednesday.
Both teams will come into the match needing nothing short of victory as they are fighting relegation.
Rovers are 15th on the log standings with just 10 points from 14 matches with their counterparts just one place above them with 11 points from the same matches.
