Zimbabwe edge Zambia in Harare friendly

TOWERING Chicken Inn centre back Teenage Hadebe leapt highest to plant a firm header into the nets on 55 minutes for the Warriors to see off neighbours Zambia at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Hadebe, who has developed a knack of scoring crucial goals in national colours after netting a brace in another friendly match against Uganda in June must now have justified his inclusion in the team that will make the trip to Gabon for the 2017 African Cup of Nations finals in January.
His goal overshadowed the league’s top scorer Leonard Tsipa who was also given the chance to show his prowess in front of goal.
Four regular locally based national team players such as goalkeeper Tatenda Mukuruva, Hardlife Zvirekwi, Lawrence Mhlanga and Hadebe all made the starting line-up.
Triangle FC winger Malvern Gaki was also given a run and impressed with his pace and trickery which caused all sorts of problems for the Zambians.
Warriors coach Kalisto Pasuwa is now set to field foreign based players for the next international friendly against Tanzania on November 13.Advertisement
