FINANCIAL markets experts, investors and executives from various industries will descend on Johannesburg in March for the fifth Financial Markets Indaba.
The one-day gathering which is scheduled for Sandton Hilton Hotel on the 1st of March is part of a series of investment conferences held in the three cities strategic to Zimbabwe’s capital markets namely Harare, Johannesburg and London.
The Johannesburg event will bring together Zimbabwe-based infrastructure and mining project developers, asset managers, advisory firms, operators and corporates, and South African based (DFIs) Development Finance Institutions, asset managers, boutiques, EPCMs (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Management System) and other technical partners.
Organisers said this year’s conference brings together over 30 speakers participating on various panel discussions including De-risking investing in resource based projects in Zimbabwe, Private Equity Pivoting for growth and investment vehicles for infrastructure assets in Zimbabwe.
“The conference is a must if you need to connect with intermediaries who can facilitate funding and business relationships with potential clients and investors,” said business development executive Patrick Muzondo in a statement recently.
“You will be able to engage with credible Zimbabwe based project developers, businesses and advisors who can help you understand the opportunity and risks in Zimbabwe, as well as have meaningful engagement with investors with a risk appetite for Zimbabwe.”
Roundtables discussions will explore Renewable Energy infrastructure including solar, hydro and bio-fuels, Infrastructure project pipeline conversation (Transport, Logistics and Water) and Mining resources opportunity (methane, lithium, gold, chrome).
“In addition to traditional panel discussions on core economic themes, the Johannesburg summit is hosting exclusive roundtables where developers and credible capital seekers will have direct engagement with selected potential investors and technical partners with an interest in Zimbabwe,” said Muzondo.
“As a partner or sponsor you will be able to share your deal flow and project profiles to a network of investors and partners under one roof. We help tailor our value proposition for your organisation.Advertisement
“There will be an opportunity to showcase your expertise and local knowledge to companies who are looking to do business with entities operating in Zimbabwe.”
According to Muzondo, the conferences are aimed at fostering economic activity in the form of partnerships, deal origination and business development for capital providers and operators including their intermediaries.
The meeting is being co-hosted by Thomson Reuters and Emergent Capital Management.
Over the past four conferences, the indaba platform has hosted 127 speakers with at least 70 percent being top senior executives.
