ZPC Kariba in Highlanders test

ZPC Kariba might have ended an eight-game winless streak with last weekend’s 1-0 win away, at Chapungu but their renaissance faces a stern test on Saturday when they hot wounded Highlanders.
After the Chapungu victory, ZPC Kariba coach Sunday Chidzambwa hailed the result as a start of a turn in their fortunes as they now seek to finish the season on a respectable position.
But Highlanders stand in their way for that move towards revival,. What could make Saturday’s contest one not to relish for them is that they face a Highlanders side, which is searching for its soul after going for five matches without tasting victory.
Chidzambwa is aware of that fact but he believes they will stand their ground.
“We just won one game after having gone through a rough spell so are yet to find our feet. What we are now looking for is consistency,” Chidzambwa said.
“Highlanders have not been winning of late and that is what going to make life difficult for us on Saturday. They really want to win so we will be at our best. The fact that results have not been coming their way of late does not mean that they are a bad side. They are just going a low period and that is a wake up call for us in the way we should treat them.”
With 11 points behind leaders FC Platinum, ZPC Kariba have a tough task in catching up as 11 games remain before season-end.
ZPC Kariba have not lost their last two games at home after holding Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum to goalless draws.
They are however coming up a Highlanders side which beat them 1-0 in the reverse fixture in Bulawayo in June.Advertisement
