Zvasiya’s future still uncertain

THE immediate future of Kaizer Chiefs defender Lincoln Zvasiya is still in the balance as he remains holed up in Zimbabwe uncertain about what will happen next in his career.
Zvasiya, whose loan deal at Greek club OFI Crete ended prematurely at the end of last year, is now training with CAPS United after spending time training with another local club, Harare City, where nothing came out of his stint.
With the transfer window in Zimbabwe closing on March 31, time is running out for Zvasiya, who still has a running contract with Chiefs.
If he fails to secure a move this week, he runs the risk of spending another three months without playing any football, having last played competitively in October while still in Greece.
KickOff.com has gathered that Zvasiya’s fitness has improved vastly through the pre-season training that he has undergone back home, which has ignited the interest of CAPS.
Mike Makaab of ProSport International, who represents Zvasiya, said contacts in Zimbabwe are looking into his situation at the moment but they will definitely be engaging Chiefs at the end of the season to discuss the way forward.
“Lincoln is training in Zimbabwe and we have people helping us there but for now it is a wait-and-see situation, but we hope to see him playing. However, we will definitely be sitting down with Chiefs at the end of the season to discuss his future because he is still contracted to the club,” says Makaab.
CAPS United are apparently keen on bringing Zvasiya on board, though the stalemate appears to be around the duration of his stay with the Harare club.Advertisement
