JOHANNESBURG – The case against Bellarmine Mugabe and his co-accused has been postponed to 24 March.

The son of the late former president and Tobias Matonhodze abandoned their bail bids last Wednesday after it emerged, they were in the country illegally.

Their lawyers told the court the pair intends to seek a plea deal with the state.

Both are accused of shooting a 23-year-old gardener at the Mugabe residence in Hyde Park in February.

Charges include attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice, and pointing a firearm.
